They consist of a supermassive black hole surrounded by a rotating disk of hot gas and dust. Due to the enormous release of energy, quasars are among the most distant objects in the universe that can still be detected from Earth. The huge distances and thus the deep look into the past of the universe are what make it so appealing to us. It's probably the most unspectacular photograph I've ever taken. In these cases, multiple images are generated by galaxies or galaxy clusters in the foreground, which act as gravitational lenses. These are extremely faint objects that can only be imaged with powerful telescopes. With 83% illuminated pane, it would soon become a fairly bright \"lantern\". At first, nothing can be seen on individual shots. Its speed alone is record-breaking: 276,000 km\/s (according to Simbad).
