kosmos-os at the Citizens' Festival in Osnabrück
For the first time, there was to be a citizens' festival in Osnabrück on the Day of German Unity - as a place for encounter, democracy, cohesion and commitment. Under the motto "Engaged City", associations and initiatives that volunteer for Osnabrück were able to introduce themselves. We from kosmos-os were there together with over 80 other institutions.

kosmos-os exhibition at the Museum Industriekultur
Seit 2023 finden die kosmos-os Sternstunden einmal im Monat in Kooperation mit dem Museum Industriekultur (MIK) auf der Vosslinke südwestlich des Osnabrücker Piesbergs statt. Solar Eclipse and Perseids at August 12, 2026
Partial solar eclipse on August 12 in Osnabrück – a rare event. We were thrilled by the very large number of visitors during our magic hours to observe the eclipse and the Perseids. Together with the approx. 250 interested and good-humoured visitors, we had a great evening until late into the night.

Sternstunden on March 28, 2026 – After the rain came the clear night
Unfortunately, we had to cancel the "Sternstunden" event on Friday, March 27, 2025, at short notice due to bad weather. We already had 28 registrations for that date! As an alternative, we suggested the following evening at 7 p.m., hoping that many of those interested could make it.

Sternstunden on February 25, 2026 – A spring evening in winter
Even though it doesn't look like it in the photos, it was already an almost mild spring evening – and this was at the end of February! As early as the afternoon, we were saying on our WhatsApp group, "The sky already looks great – hopefully it stays that way tonight!"

Solar astronomy at Piesberg
"Sunshine, everything's good" – that sums up Sunday, September 7, 2025, which we of "kosmos-os" spent at Piesberg. The Museum of Industrial Culture had invited the Osnabrück residents to the "Bergfest" (mountain festival) and asked us to be there with an information booth. Of course, we agreed.

Photometry at ITV
The variable star T Coronae Borealis in the constellation Northern Crown is of interest at the moment, not only because it fluctuates regularly in brightness, but also because a nova event is imminent in the near future. At the ITV 2025 in Gedern, I was able to use one night to photometry this exciting star.
