Since the beginning of 2026, we have been entering all the small highlights here that do not necessarily become their own report. This is to create a small chronicle of our activities, which should enable us, but also you, to get a better insight into our occupation with astronomy and cosmology.
April 25, 2026 Sternstunden on Vosslinke
Over 20 visitors came to have astronomy explained and demonstrated to them. The program included the moon, Jupiter, Venus, double stars, and star clusters. These could be observed with the many different telescopes that had been set up. The weather cooperated, and it turned out to be a remarkable evening. -here is the report-

April 18, 2026 Monthly kosmos-os Meeting
Nine astronomy enthusiasts from Kosmos-OS attended. A short presentation observation results from an exoplanet measurement were presented and compared with those of other amateur astronomers. The discrepancies with professionally conducted measurements were discussed at length. In another presentation, the topic of "black holes" and their potential role as "dark matter" was explored. This also sparked lively discussions. Finally, a quick-release system was presented, allowing for the easy changing of cameras, small telescopes, and similar equipment on a tripod.
April 15, 2026 Comet chase
Four friends from kosmos-os (Achim, Gerold, Olaf, and Werner) met early at 3:30 a.m. on Lechtinger Hill to observe comet C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS). The comet was very low in the sky and difficult to see behind a layer of haze. Therefore, only a few photos were taken. But the four certainly had fun. Anja and Carsten had better luck, having "caught" the comet on April 11th. here the report .

April 07, 2026 Lecture
Four kosmos-os friends (Achim, Gerold, Michael and Werner) went to the main lecture of the Olbers Gesellschaft by Prof. Dr. Matthias Bartelmann (University of Heidelberg) in Bremen. The topic was Dark Matter in the Standard Model of cosmology and the assessment of the alternative view MOND (Modified Newtonian Dynamics): Interesting insights!
March 28, 2026 Sternstunden after rain
On Saturday around 6 p.m., we of kosmos-os – Fitten, Gerold, Olaf, Achim, and Werner – arrived at Vosslinke. It was still raining! We remained optimistic and trusted the weather forecast. In fact, we were able to set up in the dry from 6:30 p.m. onwards.

March 21, 2026 Lecture
As part of the monthly meeting of kosmos-os, Thomas Grunge gave a lecture on noctilucent clouds . A phenomenon that still cannot be fully explained and is being researched further.
March 03, 2026 Lecture
Three kosmos-os friends (Achim, Werner and Wilhem) went to Bremen for the main lecture of the Olbers Society by Prof. Dr. Cora Uhlemann (University of Bielefeld). The topic was the architecture of the cosmos, dark energy and its significance in the cosmological standard model: An engaging and interesting lecture on a much-discussed topic!
February 25, 2026 Spring - Sternstunden in winter
Our Sternstunden in cooperation with the MIK at minus degrees on the Vosslinke: That didn't stop the visitors from looking at the stars with us!

February 21, 2026 Lecture
As part of the monthly meeting of kosmos-os, Dr. Achim Tegeler gave a talk on the timescape model as a possible (and rarely mentioned) alternative to Dark Energy. A topic that is hardly known even to those interested in astronomy.
Fevruary 10, 2026 Lecture
Four kosmos-os friends (Achim, Gerold, Werner and Wilhem) went to Bremen for the main lecture of the Olbers Society by Prof. Dr. Jochen Weller (University of Munich). The topic was the Dark Universe and ESA's EUCLID mission.
January 19, 2026 Observation of Northern Lights above the Osnabrück region
The kosmos-os friends Achim, Anja, Carsten, Gerold, Olaf and Thomas K. observed the Northern Lights above Osnabrück. There was a lively exchange of pictures and reports, which led to a separate report on kosmos-os .
